A life of love, a love of life
Addie’s Story
The Addison Auza Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Addison Auza, who left us far too soon on December 3, 2018, at the age of 11. Those of you who knew Addie, remember her as a most compassionate and fun-loving little girl, one who really cared about people. She was great with younger kids and always tried to include them in activities. This is her story.
A Bright Light
Addie was truly a light in this world. A beautiful girl, with blue eyes and a smile that lit up any room, Addie loved spending time with her younger brother Logan and being silly with her friends. She looked out for the underdog and was always willing to help a friend in need. Addie brought joy to everyone, and her care and compassion was heartwarming and infectious.
A Love for Life
Addie’s favorite pastime was reading. She also loved listening to music, was learning to play the guitar, and was a member of the Dance Loft Hype team. Addison was a staunch supporter of her brother Logan’s youth athletic teams and of the University of Arizona Wildcats! She enjoyed vacationing at the beach in Maine every summer, spending time with her back-east family.
A 4-H Showman
A Lifesaver
On October 27, 2018, Addie was admitted to hospital because of an undetected Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) in her brain. An AVM is an abnormal tangle of the vessels in the brain that ruptured. This caused excessive brain damage that she could not recover from. Her last act of selflessness was as an organ donor. So far, Addie has saved the lives of four people, and will help more as needs arise.
A moment lasts a second, but the memory lasts forever.
